congratulations on another great season, hounds! In the end, this has been one of our most successful seasons. This fall, we were able to get the most girls out for hockey that we've ever had (40 rostered players!) ensuring that girls hockey will be healthy at Point Grey for years to come. We had nine Hounds represent the West in our league's first annual East vs West All-Rookie Series. The league expanded to eight teams, the most since the early 2000's. Amidst this increased level of competition, we earned a place in the Final Four for the city and improved in the playoffs, defeating Byng 2-1 (a team that had beat us 4-0 in the regular season) in the Bronze game. There were numerous individual successes this year- including these: Sydney Kagetsu played goal in a league game, and Ariana Bechtold, Ava Hsieh and Nina Tsai scored their first goals as Hounds. Finally, we were able to share the ice for a friendly match against the Israeli Hockey Academy during their Canada training camp. Thanks to coaches, Kevin Gee, Mr. Enns, Mr. Long and Ms. Douglas for all their help on the ice this season and a special goodbye to our graduating seniors: Lyndsey Bryden (captain); Ingrid Chao; Emma Gibb (alternate captain); Grace Pearson (alternate captain); Anny Xia.
